Paulo is The Or’s Managing Partner. Prior to this venture, he spent over 10 years at Wieden+Kennedy as one of their most effective business leaders, running their account handling department as well as overseeing the likes of Nike, Lurpak, Three & Converse.
Before W+K, Paulo spent nearly 10 years at TBWA working across their flagship and cherished accounts; adidas, Playstation & John Smith’s.
Paulo’s entry into advertising isn’t a typical one. At university he helped run a successful club night and used advertising placements to learn the tricks of the trade, eventually realising he had a skill for business and marketing.
Metz is The Or’s Production Partner.
She has worked at several award-winning agencies, including adam&eveDDB, McCann London, and BBC Creative, offering her expertise across Production, Project Management and Creative Operations.
Metz ensures things get made properly and with bundles of flair and energy. She allows production to be upstream in the strategic and creative process so it gives briefs new avenues for solutions early in the process.
Sarah is The Or’s Strategy Partner.
She joined the agency in 2020, after heading up strategy on M&S, Zalando, Vodafone and Volvo at Grey London. She’s delivered several award-winning campaigns and was instrumental in bringing the Airbnb account to EMEA during her time at TBWA. She is also the host of The Or's event series for women, 3 Good Things.
With a degree in psychology and economics, Sarah is deeply fascinated with how people interact with brands.
Dan & Charlene are The Or’s Executive Creative Directors. Working as creative partners for almost 15 years, the duo joined The Or at the start of 2023. Starting their career at BBH, they joined Droga5 London in 2016.
Their experience across a breadth of brands, most notably for St John Ambulance, Axe, Kahlua, Barclaycard, Rustlers and Paramount, has resulted in their work being recognised at every major award show.
They were recognised in the Adweek 100 in 2024.

The Or is an independent creative company that was born in the 2020 global pandemic. The world was shifting and the opportunity presented itself to rethink at a ground level how agencies could work.
Formed by a group of individuals who, following careers at other creatively respected networks and independents, all shared the same vision - to build an agency that provokes fundamental change in what great work is and the journey you embark on to get there. That mindset extends itself in the way we work with brands through a ‘Made to Order’ approach. Every brand has unique challenges. So we shape teams around each brand, utilising different specialists under the Mother Family Group on each project.
